Daisy Lane German Smear Technique Tutorial Brick and Mortar Embossing Folder

I wanted to create a background that made me think of the German Smear technique that is used on brick.  First, I stamped the flower stems in Old Olive on the 5-1/4" X 4" Whisper White cardstock. I ran the card stock through the Brick and Mortar Embossing Folder. I wanted to make it appear that the red brick was showing through the white plaster top layer. In order to do that, I used Gray Granite and Terracotta Tile Ink Pads on Sponge Daubers to add color to only the highest bricks.  Then I sanded it off a bit with a sanding block which can be seen on the bottom right corner of the brick at the top left.

I didn't want to leave the inside of the card bare.  I stamped the Daffodil Delight flower image first. Then, I used a mask over it when I stamped the Old Olive stem.  Quick and Easy!

Over the Moon Scalloped Note Card

I'm Over the Moon about the Over the Moon set. It is so cute and has such fun sentiments!  This completes my card series with each of the Scalloped Note Card colors. I hope you've enjoyed how versatile and easy to use they are!

This little cow is colored with Light and Dark Basic Black Stampin' Blends and Light and Dark Petal Pink Blends.

I used the Polka Dot pattern from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper for the card base layer and added a scalloped circle in Petal Pink with Chalk Marker Dots drawn onto the scallops. More dots on the Whisper White Dotted Tulle Ribbon are "udderly fantastic".

Rustic Retreat Improved Look Card

Have you ever made and card and been happy with it, but then thought of another way of doing it and liked that better?

Well that happened to me with a card I've already blogged for you.  I made a Z fold card with the Rustic Retreat set and decided to use it for a swap. (A swap is when Stampin' Up! Demonstrators make a number of cards all alike and then by mail or in person switch with other Demonstrators.  This allows us to get some ideas and examples of some sets we may not have purchased to show our customers.) 

I couldn't hold out on you all in case you might like it better too! So here is the new and improved version that I used for my swap:

How it all occurred:

When I talked about coloring the swap cards, my daughters thought that the Light Pool Party Blend I accidentally used on the first one looked better than the Dark Pool Party Blend.  (Originally, I was trying to match the Pool Party Cardstock inside the card, and I liked the back and forth horizontal texture.  I actually worked to achieve that look.)  My girls didn't like it for the sky, so I didn't use it, and they liked the lighter color. I admit I do like it better with a lighter sky!
