Kathryn's Birthday Pleasant Poppies card

My friend Kathryn enjoys Georgia O'Keefe, so I tried to give her birthday card a slight nod that direction. I used the marker to stamp technique and then watercolored with a blender pen using Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red. I love that the Pleasant Poppies background can be used as a background or for the entire card, or you can only ink up a portion and use it as a different image as I've done here.  We are sorely lacking on Real Red and Old Olive Ribbon that dosen't have white on it this year, so I flipped the Old Olive polka dot ribbon over and pulled the "stitch" out of the Real Red stitched grosgrain ribbon so that it would look okay with my Vanilla colored card.  The background is the new Lacey Brocade from the Holiday Catalog.

No Peeking Deer Gatefold card swap

This is the other swap I made for the Stampin' Addicts Meet and Greet. I used the No Peeking set with the new Window Frames Framelits from the Holiday Catalog.....The Candlelight Specialty Designer Series paper stripes made a fun match with the dots on both the Jolly Christmas sentiment and the dsp. (You may need to click on the picture to see the dots.)  A little paper piercing using the new templates finished it off nicely I think. This will be so fun to make for class this fall!

Christmas card with Beautiful Season

Oh, actually this is a simplified version of the card I sent to the Stampin' Addicts Meet and Greet Christmas card swap, but it is nice for a quicker card....I love the cherry cobbler glitter glue on the holly berries.

Here's my swap card for the organized swap.  It has the edgelit large scallop and matching edge embosser plus I cut the Apothecary Accents squarish die in pieces (Real Red under the sentiment) and made the sentiment a bit more of a focal point.

What Paula is swapping for me today....

This "Horse Frontier" set card is so simple, but I really enjoy the denim ribbon with the new ribbon slide from the holiday mini.  Simple and sweet for a general swap I think...Thanks Paula!

Swap card for Stampin' Addicts Meet and Greet

I decided not to attend Stampin' Up!'s convention this year since next year is the 25th anniversary.  My friends Paula and Missi are being sweet and swapping this card for me tonight at the Stampin' Addicts Meet and Greet.  Thanks girls!

This Summer Silhouettes card uses Emboss Resist and additional Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder for glittery shine and plenty of rhinestone bling.  I love the colors. (Pool Party, Old Olive and Melon Mambo)

Papillon Potpourri Triple butterfly card

I made this card for a recent swap. I really like this pattern on the butterflies with several of Stampin' Up!'s designer series papers. I chose the Floral District dsp for this card and added rhinestone bling to the butterflies for a bright Birthday card.

Himalayan Poppies with Pleasant Poppies background stamp

This new Pleasant Poppies background stamp is such fun! It is lovely when watercolored or as a watermark background.  For this card I watercolored it and added a realistic style butterfly from the Papillon Potpourri set. First, it was embossed with clear embossing powder and Black Craft Ink. Then, I watercolored and cut out the butterfly to preserve the antennae.  The Elegant Butterfly punch will remove the antennae-fair warning. :)

Emma makes an OKC Thunder card for her dad's birthday!

My 10-year-old daughter Emma made this card for her dad's birthday last month.  She LOVES the Thunder, so she couldn't wait to use the new Great Sport set for a birthday card for her dad. It will be perfect for scrapbooking Thunder games and pictures with the players too. It also has a football, baseball and soccer ball so it will be perfect for many birthday cards. Great job Emma!

MOJO248 MoJo Monday Sketch card

This Betsy's Bloom set card was made using the MOJO248 sketch, and the framelit was double cut to make it slightly narrower.   I enjoy the new Primrose Petals In Color very much, and it looks nice with Marina Mist and Garden Green as well. The new double stitched ribbon is luscious too. The bird was stamped three times and cut out with the wing cut out separately and popped up on dimensionals.  Fairly quick and fun.

Reason to Smile July Exclusive set

This card is a CASE (copy and share everything) of a swap card I received from Paula Wright here: http://www.paulastamps.blogspot.com/2012/07/happy-july.html I added a book mark using the Big Shot Apothecary Accents framelit (I trimmed off the bottm) and essentials paper piercing pack, added a bit of light pink and changed the ribbon to make it a technique class card. The Reason to Smile set is only $5 with a $50 purchase in the month of July. I think you'll enjoy this card and this set!
