Stampin' Addicts Occasions Mini 2011 Blog Hop

Welcome Stamping Friends!

You've likely arrived from Allison's Sweet Impressions Blog where you enjoyed her beautifully touching creations with the Thanks for Caring set. Should you get lost or want to chat about the blog hop, visit the Blog Hop Chat Thread on Stampin' Addicts for a list of all the participating blogs in order.

There are so many great sets in this new mini that I had trouble choosing my favorite! I went with the Baby Blossoms set and the Springtime Vintage Designer Series Paper and had such fun making these projects.

First is this set of 3X3 cards (with Fancy Favor box container) that shows off some of my favorite patterns in this paper pack.  Tucking four of these little cards in the Fancy Favor Box gives the recipient great gift insert cards for weddings or showers or any occasion. You can't go wrong with these colors...Pear Pizzazz and Baja Breeze are gorgeous on their own and together.

I have another 3X3 card with matching envelope for you...This one is a little more detailed and features a mini scallop circle card on the front. (Check back Monday to see a photograph of the card showing the mini scallop circle card opened.) Masking a circle and small oval punch and sponging the inside created a fun and cohesive look, and I admit I didn't even use the Stamp A Ma Jig for this bunch of flowers. So sweet and so easy.

This card features the menu for my Hostess Appreciation Tea....It won't be held until June, but I thought it would be cute to show at the beginning of stamp club as a teaser of sorts.  I purchased the teapot card template from Stampin Up! demonstrator Ilina Crouse, and I think it makes an adorable faux Old Country Roses when used with the Baby Blossoms stamp set. I wish I'd pre-ordered the crown charms in the mini catalog--One would have been ~perfect~ hanging on the ribbon as a tea tag in the spot I used a vintage brad!

Finally, I made this card in which I cut out the center of the oval and used double layers of dimensionals as well as a few flowers for a shadow box effect.  The new tulips embossing folder can be used in a variety of ways, and in this instance, I sponged some Pretty Ink Pink ink lightly over just the edges and trimmed it down to a layer though it is lovely on the card base layer too.

I tried the wrist twist we used with the old Roses in Winter set, but wasn't thrilled with my first effort, so I'll have to play with that again soon...and also try it for a little Rock and Roll technique...

Now it is time to click and continue to the NEXT STOP on our tour for Holly's great designs with the new Petal Cone Big Shot Die on InkPaperStamps.

February Technique Class -Candy Bar Holder & Trash to Treasure

This Clean and Simple Candy Bar Holder has a lot of fun details in its design and a choice of sentiment for you to make on the front as well. Choose from the three shown here to customize it to your preference.

We'll use waffle paper to emboss the CHOCOLATE in Chocolate Chip Craft ink and add what are typically bits of "Trash" for added cuteness.  A bit of foil from a Hershey kiss is the foil for the nostalgic bar attached with Mono Multi liquid glue, and the teeny tiny hearts from the heart border punch make great heart accents to glue onto the candies or at points on the Designer Label Punch. We're also using small bits of ribbon that one might normally throw away, but are still useful for the "pull" at the top of the candy bar.

Make and Take from Downline Christmas...

Of couse there was a make and take for my girls at the party, and here it is:

We made the card on the left with the large Beveled Windowpane, Out of the Box Technique and Crayon Resist Technique (click on the picture for a better view), but I showed them that the same card would be lovely in a class setting as shown on the card on the right.  We will make the card on the right at January Technique Class on January 5th and 6th. I think you will enjoy how easy the rectangle brocade stamp in the new Clearly for You set makes the Out of the Box technique incredibly simply to do!

Downline Christmas Party

We had our downline Christmas party on Wednesday, and it was a blast!  I love getting together with stamping buddies and sharing a meal and fun.

The girls were sweet to make gifts and cards, so of course, I'd like to show them off here...Providence is unknown on some, so you'll have to forgive that...I'm so proud of their sweetness and hard work, but I'm the present giver-silly girls!

Because of the Blogger landscape photo issue the names are on sideways, but at least the picture is right side up! Check out these beautiful cards and the beautiful Charm insert-perfect for all my aqua-colored winter clothes! (My favorite color so I do have several!) Thanks so much Kris and Linli!
I love this beautiful gift from Valerie! Amazing gift card holder and adorable glove packaging! Super cute!

I was CASE'd by Marlene (she used a different stamp set, but we both CASE'd MOJO MONDAY sketch 160 MOJO160) for this sweet card...what flattery! Marlene did some lovely coloring, don't you agree?

Thanks so much and thanks for being such great friends and business associates, and in case anyone is  wondering I made Fancy Favor boxes with the new spring vintage dsp for the girls....There was new Seam Binding ribbon, rose Vintage Flower Adornments and Beveled Windowpane frames inside.
