Inky Friends Last Change Retiring set Blog Hop Southern Serenade

Welcome to the Inky Friends Last Chance Blog Hop for Retiring Sets!  I hope you'll enjoy our tributes to these sets that will be gone soon.

You may have arrived from Mary's Center Stage Stamping blog where she displayed the fantastic Blow Out the Candles set.

I chose the Southern Serenade Stamp Set because I wanted to use it another time.  The set's main floral is lovely and is a joy to color with the Blends.  The lace which I stamped in So Saffron added texture to the main images of both cards.

The image in the first picture was colored with light and dark Highland Heather Blends, but I used the new Purple Posy card stock for the card. I colored the polka dot tulle using Old Olive reinker and water and added both Highland Heather and Balmy Blue Gingham Gala adhesive back sequins which are carrying over to the new catalog.  The layering circles dies were nice with this sweet sentiment, and the Country Floral Embossing folder echoed the petals of the main image.

For this card I used the new Magnolia ribbon. It is so soft and pretty though it seems easy to fray. I liked the texture it added to this card.  The Layered Leaves embossing folder makes a leafy green background for the card.

Now let's hop on over to Shelley's Miss Mad Stamper blog to see her adorable creations with the sweet Sunny Days set. LOVE her use of the slices and sentiment only!

So pretty. I love how you used the purple and the blue for the flowers--both are great!

Both are gorgeous! It always amazes me how a simple color change can adjust the feel of the card.
