My Inky Friends Design Challenge 12 MIFDC12 Lovely Lattice Itty Bitty Birthdays

Hi stampin' friends! Join us this week for a color challenge with My Inky Friends!  We used Rich Razzleberry, Mango Melody, Lemon Lime Twist and Pool Party, and we'd love for you to make a card and post it to our challenge blog! Here's the link to the My Inky Friends blog.

This stamp is the ~NEW~ Lovely Lattice which is a Sale-A-Bration choice ~and~ the new cling stamps which really adhere to the blocks without any added effort.  This stamp is a lot of fun to color with the Blends. We don't have a Lemon Lime Twist Blend, so I used the regular Stampin' Write Marker.  The Lemon Lime Twist Ruffled Ribbon is bright and fun, and I echoed the scallop by using the layered ovals for the sentiment. "Birthday Wishes" is from the new Itty Bitty Birthdays set which I won at On Stage.

The new sequins are fun as well, but I softened them by adding a pearl in the center. I added Wink of Stella to the edge of the lace, but it isn't really visible. I also stamped off the Rich Razzleberry one time before stamping.

Food Friday Lasagna Soup

I recently added a new recipe to my list of winter soups we enjoy, so I thought I'd share here.

It is Lasagna Soup and can be made in the slow cooker after browning the ground beef, but I just continued in the same pan, and it was ready in about 30 minutes with much less mess.

Ingredients:

• 1 lb ground beef-I used 93% lean
• 1/4 cup diced onion
• 1 pack of McCormick Thick and Zesty Spaghetti mix
• 15 oz petite diced tomatoes with juice (or crushed tomatoes if your children don't like pieces)
• 8 ounce can tomato paste
• 1 tsp minced refrigerated garlic (or fresh if you'd like of course)
• 1/2 tsp dried basil
• 6 cups chicken broth
• 1/2 cup heavy cream
• 3/4  cup Parmesan cheese (real shredded)
• 12 ounces of bow tie pasta
• Shredded mozzarella or parmesan for garnish and deliciousness

Directions:

1. Brown the ground beef with the onion. Then, add the Spaghetti mix.
2. Add next 5 ingredients, and bring to a boil.
3. Add heavy cream, and then add bow tie pasta cooking at least as long as package directions.
4. When pasta is tender, dish into bowls, and serve with shredded mozzarella or parmesan on top.

Pencil Holders Tea Room Specialty Stampin' Up!

I hope my friends enjoy the little pencil holders I made for Vera Bradley clickable pencils.  I like to take something for friends when I travel to Stampin' Up! events, and since these pencils are so comfy to use for me I hope others will like them too.

The Tea Room Specialty Paper is also a favorite of mine though possibly because of the name alone. :) I think the pencils I chose look nice with the colors of the paper though not a perfect match.  The Rich Razzleberry velvet ribbon IS a perfect match though and adds a cute finish for the box.

I based my design on one by Elizabeth Hackworth, but her box was not long enough for my pencils.  I also enlarged the measurements of the Designer Series Paper.




Cardstock: 3" X 8-1/2" and 4 pieces of designer series paper 6-3/8" X 3/8"

Score at 5/8" and 1-1/4", Turn 180 degrees and score at 5/8".

Turn 90 degrees and score at 5/8", 1-1/4", 1-7/8" and 2-1/2".

Snip to the 5/8" score on the end that is scored once.

Snip up to the 2nd Score line on the the more scored end. Then cut as shown in the video.  Each box with bow uses 11 inches of ribbon.

Inky Friends' Thankful For... Blog Hop 2018 Best Bunny Around the Corner Baby Card

Welcome to the Thankful For... My Inky Friends Blog Hop! Many of us are in Orlando, but we didn't want to leave you without ideas, so hop along as we share our crafting blessings! 

You've likely arrived from Kris's Paper Fairy blog in which she is thankful for Embossing Paste.

My first Stampin' Blessing is of course my friends; local, online and far away. I am spending the week with several of my dear friendies in Orlando, and I hope to have new things to share with you sweeties here at home and online when I return!  I'll be swapping this card with my Stampin' Addicts girlies this afternoon.

 I am thankful for Stampin' Up!'s Stamparatus tool and the extra plates we can now buy for it. It makes stamping duplicates for swaps or Christmas cards much simpler.  I enjoy using it for stamping the inside of cards with our family's "The Griffins" stamp and generally just placing stamps in exactly the right spot. 

I love that I can now leave some perfectly placed stamps on plates for use on a later date and use the others for a new project.

On this card I placed the Around the Corner Stamp Set in the corners by using the Stamparatus to position the stamps in the corners.

(I used a tablespoon of water and 20 drops of Soft Sea Foam Ink Refill to dye the Whisper White tulle polka dot ribbon to match and layered it over a piece of White polka dot ribbon for more interest.

 I used a punched piece of paper to arrange my stamps on the block to match the Best Bunny Punch for stamping perfectly aligned bunny parts.)

The Stamparatus allows me to stamp the Buffalo Check background more easily and completely as shown on this card and in the video below.

 It makes two-step (or more) stamping a breeze as shown in the video here and the card below:
