Paper Pumpkin Subscription Sale...2 months at only $10 each....

Stampin' Up! gave us a free Paper Pumpkin kit at Convention as a promotion...They are also offering 2 months of Paper Pumpkin at a reduced price...only $10...After that, the price is only $19.95.

I made this super quick memento of my convention trip with the kit. It was fun and easy to do...it would be great for scrapping a day trip...and look....I used Summer Starfruit designer series paper. :)

I loved this sign they wrote for demonstrators at Red Rock....it reminds me of the Chalk Talk Stamp set in the new catalog too. :)

New Online Service...Bunny Buy of the month

I'm starting a new online Stamp Set of the month program.  I'll pick a stamp set each month, and you'll get the CLEAR stamp set and 3 completed cards made with the set plus all the instructions (all measurements and a supply list)  for $30.  I will ship the set and cards in a flat rate USPS Priority Mail envelope, so you can join no matter where you live in the U.S.

You sign up for each month separately, so if you don't love one month's offering, you can simply skip that month.  (You may also substitute another set if you have that month's choice.  Mention this as you pay...not later.) There is no obligation to continue. However, if you purchase the Bunny Buy for 3 months straight/in a row/consecutively, you will receive $5 off your next month's Bunny Buy.

Payment is due by Paypal no later than August 2.  Just email me if you'd like for me to invoice you from my Paypal account.

August Bunny Buy--Backyard Basics (page 79 of the 2013-2014 catalog)

This set contains 6 stamps: an egg with "fig. 3" under it, a bee, a bird, a butterfly, a tulip and a Peruvian Lily (in my opinion, that's what it is...who knows for sure?)

Soft Sky Base Crayon Resist card (shown directly above)

Supplies:
Bunny Buy of the month--Backyard Basics Clear Stamp set (on page 79)

requires a white Crayola crayon
I used the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the Express Yourself Hostess set (Page 205)

Cardstock (pages 140-149) and accessories:

5-1/2 X 8-1/2 inch sheet of Soft Sky cardstock (fold in half to form card base)
4" X 5-1/4" sheet of Pink Pirouette cardstock, embossed with the Fancy Fan embossing folder (Page 191 in the main catalog) using your Big Shot
2-3/4" X 4" piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock
2-1/2" X 3-3/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock
Soft Sky cardstock, punched with the Artisan Label Punch (Page 181)
Scrap of Whisper White for the Sentiment
Modern Label Punch (Page 181)
5 inches of Whisper White 3/8" Taffeta ribbon, with a knot tied in the middle (Page 173)
Pearl Basic Jewels (Page 171)
Mini Glue Dots (Page 174)
Dimensionals (Page 175)
General adhesive of your choice (Page 174-175)

Inks:
Jet Black StazOn ink pad (Page 165)
Soft Sky Classic Ink page (Page 147)
Stampin' Write Markers in Pink Pirouette, Strawberry Slush, So Saffron and Pear Pizzazz
A Sponge for sponging on the Soft Sky ink (Page 164...cut in 1/6ths pieces)

1. Cut all cardstock pieces...emboss the Pink Pirouette layer using the Fancy Fan folder.
2. Stamp your sentiment using Soft Sky onto Whisper White and punch with the Modern Label Punch.
3. Stamp the Peruvian Lily/alstroemeria stamp onto the 2-1/2" X 3-3/4" piece of Whisper White.
4. Color the center of the large flowers with So Saffron.
5. Color the leaf areas with Pear Pizzazz.
6. Color the Strawberry Slush portions.
7.  Accent with Pink Pirouette, leaving a few areas white only.
8. Cover the entire image with the White crayon...going outside the lines just a bit to provide a nice white edge on the image that will show after you sponge.  Any area that is not covered with crayon will become Soft Sky.
9. Sponge with Soft Sky ink over the 2-1/2" X 3-3/4" main image layer.
10. Gently scrape the crayon from the card with your fingernail (a coin may mar the surface with dirt) and put the bits of crayon into the trash.

Now you are ready to assemble the card...The only dimensional I used was under the right side of the sentiment, and a glue dot was used under each end of the ribbon.  General purpose adhesive was used to adhere the remainder of the pieces, layering the main image layer onto the Pear Pizzazz and the Pink Pirouette layer onto the card base. Don't forget to put the Artisan Label under the Pear Pizzazz and to adhere two pearls at the top right side of the card.

What I'm swapping, Saturday Backyard Basics Crayon Resist with Vellum Butterfly

Today, I'm swapping this Backyards Basics Crayon Resist Card....It has a vellum butterfly that I colored with markers and added dots using the new Chalk Marker from the Holiday catalog.  I outlined in white crayon in several places and went over most of the image with the crayon as well.

I used the Beautifully Baroque embossing folder on Pink Pirouette, and the "you can do it" sentiment from the hostess set, Express Yourself.  I love this sentiment because it is perfect for so many occasions when you want to encourage someone.  The sponging was done using Daffodil Delight.

What I'm swapping Friday...Calm Christmas Joyful Christmas Tags 4 You

Well, I really swapped these yesterday, but I'm not in any swaps today, so....today will be a festival of Christmas...I hosted the Christmas Swap at the Stamping Addicts Meet & Greet, so I had these cards made for it...

This card is Elegant Eggplant and Silver and is made with the Calm Christmas set. I lined it with a white liner since the color is so dark.

Next is this simple Criss Cross Card using the Season of Style designer series paper and the Tags 4 You stamp set....I also used the tiny bow embellishments and used the label framelits to cut the inside pull out piece.

I also swapped this Joyful Christmas card....It has the new Pretty Print embossing folder Pistachio Pudding and Gold Encore Ink with Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green. I love the new 1" Cherry Cobbler white edged grosgrain ribbon and finally figured out a way to use it on this card.

What I'm swapping Thursday Stampin' Addicts Meet and Greet Brunch

First are these Halloween Reese's Holders For Missi's swap...I made a variety so if someone doesn't like "Creepy", I have one for them as well. I highlighted the web above the medallion on the holder on the far right with Dazzling Details glitter glue, but I'm not sure you can see it?

Next, I also swapped these cards in Kim Bolzenthal's new catty sets swap...I added crystal effects to the cherries to make them as shiny as the ones Marlene brought to stamp club last month. :)  This uses the Giggle Greetings set, gingham wheel and the gingham circle from Cozy and Kind.

Thanks Angie for organizing another great get together for us!

What I'm Swapping at Convention Wednesday Backyard Basics Crayon Resist

Today, as soon as we arrive in Salt Lake City, Valerie (my dowline friend) and I are going to a shoebox swap with some of my bestest stampin' friendies...We're eating great Italian food and we'll make 9 shoebox swaps. We made 9 others for those not in our group for a total of 18...I can't wait!

My card has the Fancy Fan embossing folder, Backyard Basics stamp set and crayon resist technique.  I used the "happy birthday" sentiment from the hostess Express Yourself set.  I tucked an Artisan label punch under the top right corner of the image layer and added white taffeta ribbon to the  bottom left corner....These are my favorite colors-If it wouldn't bore my customers and swap-ees to tears, all my cards would be these colors. :)

What I'm swapping at Convention...Simply Sketched Christmas

This is just a general swap unless I need to fill a spot in one of my Christmas Swap groups at the Stampin' Addicts Meet and Greet Brunch on Wednesday...Always good to be prepared for the worst to prevent it from happening, I say.

Earlier, I couldn't decide which of these to make, but I went with the one on the right and added something different.  After I colored the main image stamp and stamped it, I stamped into Versamark and stamped onto the Pistachio Pudding layer...It colored the images slightly and made the card look better to me.  It was easy to remove the color from my Versamark pad with just a paper towel when I finished.

Stampin' Addicts 2013-2014 New Catalog Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts New Catalog Blog Hop.  I hope you'll enjoy a quick trip through this fun new catalog with us.  If you're traveling in order, you've seen the sweet Zoo Babies creations on Rubber Stamping & Card Making with Yapha.  Should you get lost or want to chat, the list of participants is available on the Blog Hop thread on Stampin' Addicts.

On this first card, I stamped and die cut what I consider the Alstroemeria/Peruvian Lily stamp from Vellum cardstock...I used Pistachio Pudding and Strawberry Slush for intense color. I used bits of mini glue dots to attach it to a white base cut from the Labels framelits.  Backed with the larger layer in Strawberry Slush, it is an elegant surprise when slid from this Criss Cross card which uses the Strawberry Slush Designer Series paper as well as the Boutique Detail embellishment and the Stretch Trim.  I liked how versatile it is, so I'll add a sentiment to the inside when I'm ready to sign and send it.

Next is what I consider a female Blue Bird with the typical muted colors....Soft Sky is the card base and the bird's base.  I cut the oval from the woodgrained card base.  It is always difficult for me to be sloppy, but I sponged Baked Brown Sugar over the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and smudged color outside the lines on the water color paper around Ms. Bird. The Crisp Cantaloupe Stretch Trim made a nice edging for the image oval, and the color is perfect for Ms. Bird's chest.  I twisted the Soft Sky Seam Binding Ribbon for a little more texture. The Sentiment is from the hostess set, Simply Sketched.

This Thank You card features the Tulip stamp from Backyard Basics and lots of Vellum.  It is die cut from Vellum, and the Beautifully Baroque background is also Vellum...The is also layered with vellum over the Pink Pirouette Die Cut from Apothecary Accents.  The bit of Pink Pirouette peeking out is from the Chalk Talk Framelits.

Now, it is time to travel to Stitchin n Stampin' on Paper where Kim will show us her beautiful designs using the Regarding Dahlias set.
