Stampin' Up! Honeycomb Happiness Set Chick card MOJO433

I used the MOJO Monday sketch for this week ( MOJO 433 ) for the Easel card for this month's class.  Although the Birthday Bouquet Designer series Paper doesn't have any So Saffron in it, I still think it looks cute with this little sweet chick.  Of course I dyed a Honeycomb Embellishment Daffodil Delight for an adorable tummy on the chick.  I think he'll be adorable in March as a welcome spring type card.

Stampin' Addicts' Stampin' Up! 2016 Occasions Catalog Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts' Stampin' Up! 2016 Occasions Catalog Blog Hop.  It is such fun to see everyone's ideas with the new stamp sets and Big Shot items!

If you are hopping in order, you've arrived after seeing Heidi's lovely designs on her Running with Scissors Blog. Should you get lost or want to chat about the hop, here is a link to the chat thread on the Stampin' Addicts website: Chat Thread

I'm using the Rose Garden/Rose Wonder Bundle for my creations....There are so many amazing things you can do with the main image of this stamp set and die cuts that I've decided to list them for you!

First with the Rose Garden thinlits, you can cut the main image from black, white, gold, silver or a color of cardstock with green leaves. You could then, use it as is, sponge or water color a white die cut, or you could also fill the voids with colored cardstock, glimmer paper, designer series paper, vellum or shimmer paper.  You could also just use it as a mask and sponge around the Rose Image Die Cut.

With the stamp set you could heat emboss it, and then emboss resist, watercolor, sponge or color with your favorite coloring technique.  I plan to try them all eventually!

My first cards use Stampin' Up!'s card design from page 19 of the catalog.  I used Daffodil Delight and So Saffron as well as Watermelon Wonder and Calypso  Coral.  I like the stained glass look of black with this die cut especially.  I made this orange card about a month ago, but sadly, another blogger has already posted a picture of this idea. Great minds think alike I guess, so I decided to go ahead and post.

I found that using the Mono Multi liquid glue worked best for me for this card.  I used the Fine-Tip Glue Pen when I first tried it, and I found I had a bit of "seepage" on the the card base at the top of the flower.  Sadly, the adhesive eraser removes the Mono Multi easily, but didn't remove the "shiny" look of the dried Fine-Tip Pen's glue at all.  The Mono Multi also gives you more time to put your pieces into the voids.  The Fine-Tip Glue Pen dries very quickly.

After you've made one of the cards above, you are left with some lovely green and yellow line die cuts which can (and should :) ) be made into a card.  I made the So Saffron and Pear Pizzazz into a simple sympathy card and the Daffodil Delight and Old Olive into a Thank you Card. The "with Sympathy" sentiment is cut out using the great new label die in this bundle, and I'm weird in that I think sympathy cards should not be embellished much.

Finally, I "Winked" the line rose stamp with Wink of Stella Clear and intentionally smeared the Real Red and Old Olive a bit. It would be fun to play with this in every color a rose is, I think and to try adding more ink here and there.  I especially like the way the Wink of Stella looks just directly on our cardstock as shown here on the Real Red.  I'm easily amused. :)

Now, it is time to continue to Sara's blog to enjoy her lovely designs with the Going Global set and Going Places Product Suite on her Lily's Ink Pad blog.

Easel Stampin' Up! Bloomin' Heart Thinlits Die Card

Sorry for the sideways picture of this feminine Bloomin' Heart Thinlits Die Easel card.  It was odd for me to try to photograph the Happy Valentine's Day sentiment at the same time as the front of the card.

The Precision Base Plate was definitely required for me on this one since neither of my Big Shots would cut the die through without it.

Bear Hugs Stampin' Up! Set Card

Bear Hugs can be fun, and I hope you'll like this card....All cut outs are done with the Big Shot.  The inside says "It's for you" and has a pink heart with "love you" on it.  It would be great as a Valentine or as an encouragement card I think.

Stampin' Addicts' Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts' Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop.  We'll show our favorite items to help you choose favorites to receive free with each $50 Stampin' Up! purchase you make from January 5 until March 31, 2016.

If you are hopping in order, you've arrived after seeing Twila's cutie pie design with the Honey Comb Happiness set on her Stamp a Little Longer Blog. Should you get lost or want to chat about the hop, here is a link to the chat thread on the Stampin' Addicts website: Chat Thread

Some of the items are for a limited time...including the set that I (as well as the next hop stop after mine) chose to highlight. The Sky is the Limit set is only available through February 15, so you'll need to choose it early if you like it as well as I do.  I love the masculine possibilites as well as the fun sayings.

First, I made this slider card. Stamped on Soft Sky, I used Chocolate Chip for the sentiment and biplane and then, the White Chalk Marker and the new Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush over the White Chalk marker for the clouds and little heart trail.  The inside is stamped with a Valentine wish....There is a rhinestone bling on the nose of the plane in keeping with the glittery nature of the card. This card is quick and still fun I think.

Pulling the slider makes the plane line up with the heart trail....

Next, I combined the set with the Going Places designer series paper stack. I considered using some Vanilla Twine to connect the plane to the sentiment as a banner, but I chickened out....The Mossy Meadow and Basic Black with Very Vanilla make a very masculine design in my opinion.

Now, soar along to Heidi's Running with Scissors Stamper Blog for more high flying fun.

Gold Embossed All Ye Faithful OPEN CRISS CROSS Card

Recently, I made this gold-embossed Open Criss Cross card that lays flat in an envelope. By tucking the right side under the center image, I created a little stand up decoration. This was inspired by an open Criss Cross card on Pinterest (By "open" I mean it doesn't have a belly band.) by Linda Bauwin.

Off Set Gatefold Poinsettia Card

This card which we made at Class last week is in style a CASE of page 18 of the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog. I LOVE the offset gatefold design of that card, so I just had to make one. I used the more intricate of the curvy corner punch edges and filled the slot/ribbon slide punch with larger ribbon. Of course the colors and sentiments are different as well. I had to line the inside with a Very Vanilla layer that was larger than usual so that it would look pretty under the punched corners. That layer is 5-7/8" by 4-1/8".

Stampin' Addicts 2015 Stampin' Up! Winter Holiday catalog Blog Hop Cozy Christmas & Home for Christmas DSP

Hi, once again, stampin' enthusiasts!  I'm so glad you could join us as we hop through the Winter themed stamps in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.  If you are hopping in order, you may have arrived from Sara's Lily's Ink Pad Blog where she showcased the Project Life Seasonal SnapShot. Lovely cards and pages!!  Should you get lost or have questions, you are welcome to click through to the Stampin' Addicts Chat Thread.

I'm using the Cozy Christmas Stamp Set and Home for Christmas DSP for my projects today.

"A Visit from St. Nicholas" definitely came to my mind for this card....."The moon on the crest of the new fallen snow, Gave the luster of mid-day to objects below;"  (Attr: Clement C. Moore--Modern word choice.)

I hope you can see the sparkly Dazzling Details added to the trees, the horizon and house edges.  This card was surprisingly quick to make and involved using marker to stamp for the house and trees, cutting out those images and tearing to each edge of the white paper for the snow. The moon is White Craft Ink dried with a heat tool, and the Sleigh is stamped in Basic Black Archival ink. I also stamped the sentiment, "May the Magic of the Season Fill Your Heart and Home" on the inside. It think it fits with these two images especially well.

I made this card when I first received my New Catalog order, but I've seen several similar ones since; so it isn't first on the web, but here it is.  I love the images in the Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper....They are so vintage and cutesy!  I also love the idea of looking in on Santa as he begins his work around the tree. :)

I like the idea of these retro images on tags too... I don't use brown kraft paper to wrap, so I find I need to use very few colors on my tags so they'll match my paper. They are simple and quick, and I could easily mass produce them.  Am I kidding "quick" with the cutting?  Nope, I find school pick up lines to be a great time for cutting out these little shapes.

Now, it is time to journey to Twila's Stamp A Little Longer Blog to see what cute things she's made with the Happy Scenes & framelits.... I love the curtains and wide range of her designs!!

Howl-O-ween Treat Witchy Owl Easel Card

Our Easel of the month for September will use the Howl-O-ween Treat set with the whimsical owl. This little witch has a bit more depth than it appears in the photo.  It is so easy to pop up different pieces with the Boo To You Framelits.  I especially liked using Black and Gold Glimmer paper for the wand.  I used the Curvy Corner Trio Punch for a slightly different shaped Easel.  We'll use each of the Happy Haunting Designer Washi Tapes though I cut the edge off of the Rich Razzleberry tape for a more pleasing design to my eye.

Stampin' Addicts 2015 Fall Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog Blog Hop

Hi again friends! You are welcome to join us as we hop through the fall themed items in the new Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.  I loved the catalog this year! Should you get lost or need to see a list, here is the chat thread on Stampin' Addicts.

I know you enjoyed seeing Paula's beautifully detailed creations with the Witch's Night stamp set on Stampin' With Paula. Such fun designs!

I'm showing the Among the Branches set this time. It has a lot of possibility, and I've really enjoyed using it.

First is this Square Pillow box embossed with the Woodland textured embossing folder.  I think this would be a fun holder for a hostess gift at Thanksgiving or for favors on each person's plate.  I just added the Into the Woods Rich Razzleberry Ribbon and the Into the Woods Elements after stamping the Very Vanilla and adding a bit of Chocolate Chip to the tree trunks.

Next, I wanted to try a Halloween card with an unusual color scheme.  Well, this ~really~ is different. I also think the yellow eyes are super creepy.

Then, I used the MOJO Monday sketch for this week, (MOJO 412) and cut down a spider web doily to a size I preferred by taking out the middle and overlapping the edges. (It was also necessary to fold the web before each fleur de lis point.) I love the effect that creates because the web doesn't stick flat...it is more wispy.  There are 1/2 glue dots under each fleur de lis point. I colored three Jack O'Lanterns in the Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper for added spookiness. :)  A few rhinestone bling add a fun sparkle.

Now, it is time to hop over to Twila's Stamp A Little Longer blog to see her creations with the A Little Something set. Have fun, and we hope to see you on September 25 for the Winter Holiday Catalog Hop!
