2015 What I'm swapping today....Friday

Today is the Stampin' Addicts' Gathering, and I hosted a Christmas swap for it.  I'm swapping these cards:

This card uses the Every Blessing Set. It is embossed using a mixture of Silver and Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. The Oval behind is Silver Glimmer Paper.  I think it is simple but striking with the Basic Black and Pacific Point cardstock.

Stamps-Every Blessing, Teeny Tiny Wishes
CS/Ink-Pacific Point, Silver Glimmer Paper, Basic Black, Versamark

Acc.-Pacific Point 3/8” Stitched Satin Ribbon, Word Window Punch, Ovals Collection Framelits, Silver Embossing Powder & Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder mixed—slightly more silver than exactly 50/50, Dimensionals

I used the new Merry Moments Designer Series Paper with a Gold Metallic Thread Garland for this card.  A Gold Metallic Sequin Star tops the tree.

Stamps-Festival of Trees
CS/Ink-Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive,
Acc.-NEW Merry Moments Designer Series Paper,  NEW Gold Metallic Thread, NEW Metallics Sequin Assortment, Rhinestones, 1/8” Gold Ribbon, Tree Punch, Bitty Banners Framelits, Dimensionals

I wanted to use Cucumber Crush for a Christmas card for this swap, and I think it was surprising that I used the Merry Moments Designer Series Paper as well as the Cucumber Crush Dashed Paper from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper.

Stamps-Santa’s Gifts Easel Card
CS/Ink/Markers-Delightful Dijon over Crumb Cake (Rudolph), Cucumber Crush, Real Red, Smoky Slate, Chocolate Chip (paws), Watercolor Paper, Blender pen with Blushing Bride for Santa’s face.  Color Real Red LAST to avoid smearing

Stampin' Up!'s 2015 Convention starts today! What I'm swapping.....Thursday

Today, I am swapping some simple cards....

I so like the Barnyard Babies Set. It is adorable for baby cards of course, but there are many fun possibilities for just Thinking of You type cards like the one I made above.

Stampin' Addicts 2015 New Stampin' Up! Catalog Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts New Catalog Blog Hop.  I hope you'll enjoy our sampling of new catalog items!

If you're traveling in order, you may have arrived from Holly's Rubber Redneck Blog.  I am sure you enjoyed her lovely creations with the Garden in Bloom set.  Should you get lost, you can find a complete list by going to the Stampin' Addicts Blog Hop Chat thread.

My stamp set choice is the Sprinkles On Top set on page 7 of the new Stampin' Up! catalog....(not to be confused with the Sprinkles of Life set that has the tree and ice cream with matching punch.)   I think these donuts are fun and silly, and I hope you do too.

For this little Chocolate Donut holder, I used the Gift Bag Punch Board, but I chose NOT to punch the holes for ribbon.  I think it makes a slightly neater presentation if you don't want a handle that might get smushed. I used Watermelon Wonder Cardstock and Chocolate Chip Ink.  I markered the sprinkles in Watermelon Wonder, Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay to match the Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape.  The sentiment was cut out with one of the NEW Lots of Labels Framelits. Simple and Fun.

This card uses the new Elegant Dots Embossing Folder which I think coordinates well with the candy stamp and sentiment in this set as well as the candy Designer Series Paper sheet from the Cherry on Top paper stack.  For a main image I used the Amazing Birthday stamp with the Banners Framelits for a change. The colors were chosen for me by the DSP, and they are colors I like, but would not have normally put together.  I like the new Washi Label punch even more than I thought I would too!

For this card, I used MOJO Monday Sketch number 405, MOJO405 .  I enjoyed fitting the elements of this set into the sketch, but I understand if it is too busy for some tastes. :)  The Happy Birthday Sentiment uses the Chalk Talk Framelit, but I cut it twice so both ends would have a point.

Now, it is time to continue to Kathleen's FA Stamper Blog to see her elegant designs with the From Land to Sea set.

Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black Butterfly Stampin Up! 's Watercolor Wings Set

I'd seen so many cards that followed the pastel on white color palette that this set's name, Watercolor Wings brings to mind, so I wanted to do something. I love the Basic Black 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon, and I shortened the new Washi Label Punch by punching it once then again on the end.  I stamped on Pumpkin for richness and added a Basic Black Big Shot Butterfly Layer.  The Fluttering textured embossing folder brings it all together for a simple and sweet card I think.

Hot Diggity Dog, It's Your Birthday!!

I think this card is fun for children or adults, and I hope everyone else does too. This particular image in the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack is fun to use as a side of this Circle Card Framelit Card! It works really well on the "hot dog" fold card. :)

Stampin' Addicts New 2015-2017 Stampin' Up! In Color Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts New 2015-2017 In Color Blog Hop!  Join us for a hop through our favorites of these great colors. ;)  Should you get lost or want to chat, join us on the Stampin' Addicts website's Blog Hop Chat Thread.  You've probably arrived from Heidi's RunningwScissorsStamper Blog and seen how versatile Tip Top Taupe is. If not, don't worry. Just keep clicking "Next", and you'll be there soon.

I'm using Watermelon Wonder, and I will tell you that I think it is strange that Stampin' Up! chose to have both Wisteria Wonder and Watermelon Wonder as colors....Seriously, there's no other "W" word that would have worked? Oh well....Lots to WONDER about there!

First, I made this little tree card using the fun Sprinkles of Life set.  Watermelon colored apples look surprisingly fine, I think. :) I used Cucumber Crush for the grass and leaves and Mint Macaron for the "sky" with Tip Top Taupe for the Woodgrain embossed background.

Next, the You've Got This set made a nearly monochromatic and striking card.  I was going to mask the flower, but I found that I liked the texture the Tip Top Taupe added behind the flower.  I used Old Olive for the leaves with the Watermelon Wonder. Love that matching lace!

Finally, I used the the cherry Giggle Greetings stamp with the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Pack. It reminds me of a retro style tablecloth. I also used the MOJO sketch for this week, MOJO399.  It is a narrow card, and I think it looks fresh with the Bermuda Bay added. I did color this with the Watermelon Wonder marker and also blender pen.  It seemed to make the color slightly bluer for some reason.

I hope you've enjoyed your stop and continue to Krystal's Card's for a Cucumber Crush of fun.

Guy Greetings Antique Car

I hope everyone will enjoy making this Happy Father's Day To A Classic card. You can give it to your dad or your kids' dad, and it makes a fun Birthday card if you don't need either of those too.  I love how easy it is to position the sentiments on the clear blocks just by using the grid paper.

Graduation OR Birthday Card using Celebrate Today

I thought it would be a good idea to offer this card for class this week.  It is available in either Navy, Green or Maroon with Grey.  You can also change the "Happy Graduation" to "Happy Birthday" and replace the mortar board/cap with the "CELEBRATE!" sentiment from this set.

Stampin' Addicts 2015 Retiring Stamp Set Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts 2015 Blog Hop. I hope you enjoy seeing a few last hurrahs for some of our favorite sets.

Should you get lost and want to chat, visit the chat thread on Stampin' Addicts.  I'm sure you enjoyed Cindy's lovely designs with the Apothecary Art set on her blog, Heart's Delight Cards.

I chose the Gifts of Kindness set because of its fun floral design and useful sayings.

For the first card, I used MOJO Monday Sketch 396, MOJO396  That design made this card come together so easily!  I used white circles under each tiny rhinestone bling in case you wonder what you are seeing there. :) These colors are Melon Mambo, So Saffron, Whisper White and Pear Pizzazz.

Next, I used Soft Sky, Whisper White, Old Olive and Crumb Cake in an attempt at an unusual look. I rolled Crumb Cake marker onto the edge of the flowers for a little more depth.  I love the echo of the retiring Polka Dot Embossing Folder. It think it brings out the dots in the image.  I also think this may be the prettiest "Happy Birthday" sentiment we've ever had.  I'll also miss the modern label punch so much!!  There are some cute punches and stamp sets in the new catalog too, so I know I'll find new favorites!

This monochrome card used the old gathered ribbon, but it would be lovely with just an extra oval in Coastal Cabana of course.  I'll miss Coastal Cabana and all of the retiring In Colors!

Now it is time to continue to Stamps and Scraps with Yapha and see her cutie pie creations with the Happy Hour set. I love those Olives!

Butterfly Basics Simple Card

Butterfly Basics is such a versatile set. It would also be great for making One Sheet Wonder cards or making our own Designer Series wanna be Paper!

You Crack Me Up! Chicks

These little chicks are sweet in Pistachio Pudding, So Saffron and Crisp Cantaloupe.  You could even use this for a spring Birthday card with just a "Happy Birthday" inside instead of Happy Easter.
