February Technique Class -Candy Bar Holder & Trash to Treasure

This Clean and Simple Candy Bar Holder has a lot of fun details in its design and a choice of sentiment for you to make on the front as well. Choose from the three shown here to customize it to your preference.

We'll use waffle paper to emboss the CHOCOLATE in Chocolate Chip Craft ink and add what are typically bits of "Trash" for added cuteness.  A bit of foil from a Hershey kiss is the foil for the nostalgic bar attached with Mono Multi liquid glue, and the teeny tiny hearts from the heart border punch make great heart accents to glue onto the candies or at points on the Designer Label Punch. We're also using small bits of ribbon that one might normally throw away, but are still useful for the "pull" at the top of the candy bar.

Make and Take from Downline Christmas...

Of couse there was a make and take for my girls at the party, and here it is:

We made the card on the left with the large Beveled Windowpane, Out of the Box Technique and Crayon Resist Technique (click on the picture for a better view), but I showed them that the same card would be lovely in a class setting as shown on the card on the right.  We will make the card on the right at January Technique Class on January 5th and 6th. I think you will enjoy how easy the rectangle brocade stamp in the new Clearly for You set makes the Out of the Box technique incredibly simply to do! 

Downline Christmas Party

We had our downline Christmas party on Wednesday, and it was a blast!  I love getting together with stamping buddies and sharing a meal and fun.

The girls were sweet to make gifts and cards, so of course, I'd like to show them off here...Providence is unknown on some, so you'll have to forgive that...I'm so proud of their sweetness and hard work, but I'm the present giver-silly girls!

Because of the Blogger landscape photo issue the names are on sideways, but at least the picture is right side up! Check out these beautiful cards and the beautiful Charm insert-perfect for all my aqua-colored winter clothes! (My favorite color so I do have several!) Thanks so much Kris and Linli!

I was CASE'd by Marlene (she used a different stamp set, but we both CASE'd MOJO MONDAY sketch 160 MOJO160) for this sweet card...what flattery! Marlene did some lovely coloring, don't you agree?

Rhinestones on Perfect Details Texturz Plate

This was very relaxing though a little time consuming, but a lot of fun! I saw something similar in Papercrafts magazine and had to try it using Stampin' Up!'s great rhinestones and the Perfect Details Texturz Plate for the Big Shot.  When I finished, it looked glitzy and glamorous, and the fun "naughty" stamp from Tags Til Christmas seemed to make sense with it too.  A silver glimmer brad, some shiny clear tinsel and our 1/8 inch black taffeta ribbon finished this fun card quickly and easily.

Tealight Candles: Metallic Modern Fun!

These flower tealight holders are made with the Flower Folds Big Shot Die and Aluminum Flashing and are SO simple!

Medallion Monogram in Old Olive Card Box and Cards

I CASE'd this Card's design from my friend Yapha Nussbaum. I simplified a little and stamped in Old Olive instead.  You may choose to make this for $7 at Gift Buffet on December 8th in the morning or 9th in the evening. 

Snowman Soup!

I received a similar snowman poop (just marshmallows inside :) )swap at Fort Worth Regionals that had a stocking cap and scarf on a 3X3 envelope, so I had to try a larger one with a top hat.  I will have these for sale for $3 this Saturday at the Edmond North High School Band Craft Show (Danforth and Fretz).  You may also choose to make these at Gift Class on December 8th if you'd like to make your own. It contains a cocoa packet, marshmallows and Hershey Kisses with the following saying on the back:

Pour the packet in a mug.

Add the Snowballs too.

And throw in the kisses

from the snowman to you!

Use the candy cane to stir in 6 ounces of hot water.

More M&M tubes...I loved these little retired stamps, and they are perfect for this, so I dusted them off as another choice for you at gift class. Gasp! Retired stamps at gift class...

M&M tube Christmas Treats

A person can put almost anything on the top of these tiny little tubes. They are perfect for holding M&Ms, and would make cute stocking stuffers or even gift tags.  They (along with a couple of other choices) will be offered at my upcoming gift glass and will vary in price from 75 cents to $1. (The brads on the Santa coat make it cost more.)

Embossing on Embossing

Heat Embossing on top of Dry Embossing isn't new in the strict sense, but it is something we can do much easier now with the SU! embossing folders.


The system that worked best for me:
1. Emboss your cardstock using a Big Shot Embossing Folder.
2. Apply craft or other embossing ink to the raised surface. White Craft and a Q-tip worked best for me on these snowflakes. It really allowed me to keep the craft ink only on the raised portion of the image. (I used a sponge dauber to apply White Craft ink to the spider web folder a month or so ago.)
3. Huff on your Craft ink to be sure it is uniformly moist.
4. Apply embossing powder (I used Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder). Shake off excess.
5. Heat emboss.
6. Finish your card.

Small Glittered Snowflake Ornament

Here's a sweet little snowflake I hope you like. I'll be making them for the Edmond North High School Craft Show, but if you'd like to make them at gift class, you'll be welcome to do so. 

December Technique Card....Poppin Pastels and Card Interior Tips

By request of our December Stamp Club hostess, we will line and decorate the inside of this card as well. I'll discuss a few easy ways to dress-up the inside of your cards as well.

We're using the Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper and the Good Cheer Stamp Set....We'll using the Poppin' Pastels Technique and the lovely Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon, finishing with one of Stampin' Up!'s great new glitter brads.  You may choose to distress and roll the edges of your image or leave it as is.

December Technique Class Modular Santa

We'll make this fun Santa at December Technique Class.  I saw him on my friend Mary Rindal's blog and thought he was SO cute. She found the idea created by Heather Hampton Freeman.  It is a relatively quick card, but he is even more adorable in person. (You really can't see the swirly embossing on his hat, beard and moustache very well in this picture.)

The 12 Tags of Christmas

You can make these sweet gift tags at Christmas Gift Class (for $3) or buy them at the Edmond North High School Craft Show (for $4) on November 13th!  Each is accented by a rhinestone "bling" and has a dimensional for easy attachment to your gift.  Use the cute matchbox to store extra Ornament hangers after you've used all the tags!

November Technique Class Card...Treat Cup Snow Globe

This card used the Sweet Snowglobe Stamp and the treat cups for a Glass Glitter and fake snow drift of cuteness.  To repeat the design on the base of the globe, I used the open scallop border punch.  The snowflakes are from the Short and Sweet Set and I highlighted the circles with Stampin' Up!'s Smooch Moonlight Pearlized Accent Ink.
