I was lucky enough to get to use the Grunge Rock stamp set for my projects. This set is a ton of fun for all ages I think.
First I decided to show a couple of "bling" options for essentially the same Pear Pizzazz and Blushing Bride colored gatefold card. On the left is the Cleaner version happily blinged with the new Basic Rhinestones which would be cute for a quick class. On the right, I added a Vintage brad, cut out the electric guitar and frayed the Blushing Bride ribbon for a funky embellishment fit for a rockin' girl. I used the faux Rock N Roll technique (faux=rather than rolling on an ink pad one uses a marker to add color to the edge of the stamp) to add Regal Rose to the edge of the guitar before blinging it up by adding Dazzling Diamonds glitter with Stampin' Up!'s 2-way glue pen.
(The U and sketchy circle on the card on the left are from the Rough Type alpabet in the Summer Mini Catalog. Hurry-they are only available until August 31st!)
Next, I thought I'd show an altered composition book and an embellished magnetic list that a girl could put in her locker for important notes and to keep track of homework (smile). I chose a Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi, Rich Razzleberry and Marina Mist color scheme because my magnetic list just happened to be Wild Wasabi, and the Marina Mist Pen from convention looked nice with these colors to me. The "ON" stamped in Wild Wasabi is just the NO.1 stamp turned around. I just inked up the N and O with the Wild Wasabi marker. The ribbons can be positioned at various places in the notebook to mark a spot. For a full explanation of how I stamped and embellished, stop by my blog on Monday.
So are you thinking, "What about the boys?" ? Since Thursday the 29th would have been Elvis Presley's 75th birthday, I think a rock crown on a masculine card was fitting. The silver embossed images and the silver cardstock add plenty of bling.
