2021 Graduation Cap and Gown 3D Card

I loved this card so much that I made it again this year! It is so fun just sitting on a table!

The base is 8-1/2 inches long by 3-1/2 inches high. It is scored at each end at 2-1/8 inches.

Your interior white piece is 3-1/4 inches square with an eighth inch edge on all sides.

Both the hat square (Pacific Point blue) and the white V pieces on the front are a 3 inch square.

You just cut the Basic White piece on the diagonal, and then cut one of the pieces on the diagonal again.

For the "action" piece, use matching cardstock that is about 2-1/2 inches wide by 2 inches wide and score it in half. Really the size isn't important though. You can make it narrower if you'd like. Then, be sure that the fold is a bit ABOVE the edge of the top of the card so it will move freely. This can best be understood by viewing the video below at 9:47.

Make sure your card isn't larger than 5-1/2 inches high as you attach the mortar board square to the top so that it will still fit in a Medium Stampin' Up! envelope (A2).

Tassle making is at 13:36.

Would a video help? Here's a link to the one I made for this style card last year. The grey and burgundy/maroon card was a bit larger than this one, but this one is perfect for an A2 envelope.
