Cap and Gown Card for Graduation

While simple to create, the look of this card is striking! I used some retired number dies for this card I was shown by my customer and friend, Victoria Schnepp, but the new Pattern Play Alphabet will be perfect when we can order it on June 3.

Cherry Cobbler has been the perfect maroon for my daughter's maroon and grey school, and I had some baker's twine that I was able to color with a Smoky Slate Blends marker for the tassel.

Since I used a full size gatefold as the base for the Maroon card, I used a Memories and More notecard since it is larger than the regular medium envelopes. A retired bit of Cherry Cobbler designer series paper made a great liner cover.

Luckily, I also had a bit of Smokey Slate Ribbon to use for the collar area too!

This card was for a graduate whose favorite color is yellow. The Daffodil Delight is so striking!  I cut the gatefold base down to 3-1/2 inches tall, and it fits nicely in a Medium envelope.

  3. This is a fab card-I am in the UK. Please can you give me the scoring measurement as I have tried 21/8" and it does not seem correct as the card folds do not meet in the middle. Many thanks

  4. 2-1/8 inches is the correct measurement for a gatefold card using 8-1/2 inch wide paper standard in the US, and they meet in the middle nicely. Your metric measurement should be about 5.3 cm for scoring each side on a 21.6 or 21.7 cm wide piece of cardstock.

    Hope this helps!
