Carousel Birthday Cupcakes & Carousels Horizontal Gatefold Card

Warning-This card may be too much for some crafters. giggle  At class this week we'll make this card. You are welcome to stop at any point if you think I've gone too far on this card.  This card is a horizontal gatefold with the tent and the Ferris Wheel cut by hand.  I used the matching Cupcakes and Carousels Embellishments kit with this set.

On the inside I used the Suite Sentiments set's Enjoy Life and Have Fun as well as a the hot air balloons from the Lift Me Up set.

Cake Crazy Delicate Details Stampin' Up! Birthday Card

I love the Cake Crazy set for the fun possibilities and design, but it does have some challenges.  I didn't quite get the top sentiment as I would want it, but you do get the idea.  I used Oklahoma City Thunder colors for a design that works for a man or woman.

The cool edge is made with the Sale-A-Bration set Delicate Details.  The idea came from a German Demonstrator blog, Claudias Ecke by Claudia Christensen. So this card is a CASE of her great mitered corners post it technique. I hope everyone enjoys making this card at class soon!

Hey, Chick Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration set cards

I decided that my first card might be too much coloring for my class attendees last week, so I whipped up an alternative using the Hex (okay Hexagons) dynamic embossing folder. I'd seen several demonstrators put ink inside the embossing folder, but adding ink with a sponge just to the apex of the wire after embossing looks the most like real chicken wire in my opinion.

I used the new Watercolor Pencils for both cards.  I made a Rhode Island Red and a Plymouth Rock chicken. So silly...You can see the new 1/8 inch grosgrain Real Red Ribbon too.

Stampin' Up! Sealed With Love Bundle Valentine Card

I don't think you can improve on the color combination Stampin' Up! chose in the catalog, so I followed right along for this card.

The Love Notes Framelits and the Sealed with Love Stamp Set (Sealed with Love Bundle) as well as the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack make such cute Valentines.  There are dozens of ways to use these items and so many possible combinations of sentiments that I think you can make a card or treat for every kind of Valentine you have!  I also used the stitched circle framelits. I just love the added texture it gives.
