Everyday Elegance Color Block Variation

This is a grid/color block card using the Everyday Enchantment Sale-A-Bration designer series paper with the matching Fresh Vintage stamp set. It shows using just a scrap of leftover Crochet Ribbon to add a nice detail. The sentiment layer is raised on a dimensional strip and has one of the Everyday Enchantment Sale-A-Bration butterfly brads on it.  We'll make this card at Technique class/stamp club this Thursday and Friday.

Stampin' Addicts Third Anniversary Party Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts Third Anniversary Party Blog Hop! This hop we're celebrating several different types of parties.  I hope you find something inspiring to enliven your next soireĆ©.  Our blog hop lasts from noon on Friday until noon on Sunday.  Should you get lost or want to see a list of participants, here is a link to the Chat Thread on Stampin' Addicts.

If you are hopping in order, I hope you enjoyed Holly's handsome Bon Voyage creations on her Rubber Redneck blog.

My party is a Hostess Appreciation Tea which is actually on my schedule for June. I can't wait to make the Creativity Journals with my sweet guests.  We'll have hot teas, scones and quiche with a few other treats too. I enjoy this event so much each year, and I think the Journals will add to our fun.

The first little project is this Fancy Favor Box with the script paper from Attic Boutique adhered behind the front and also on the inside back.  I cut a hole with one of the Labels Framelits so that when I decide what buttons, brads and/or ribbon to include as their gift (likely something from the new catalog), it will be displayed.  I typically update their SU! color rings with the new In Colors (and provide them to new members), so I will definitely include the new 2012-2014 colors.  I saw the rolled paper roses on Pinterest, but I apologize that since the poster had not linked to the original post, but to flickr instead (which when clicked shows pictures of postage stamps on flickr)  I don't know "from whence they came :).  I think my guests will love how easy they are! The Pool Party and So Saffron mimic the roses on the designer series paper though I used River Rock for my leaves and just sponged them in Soft Suede. I added some dazzling details glitter glue to the edges for shine.

I will offer my guests the option to choose their own designer series paper for their Art Journal of course, but I chose mine :). I used more of the Attic Boutique and added a piece from the Pocketful of Posies designer series paper.  I cut a piece of thin chipboard with the Label Framelit and adhered the dsp which though it isn't the same color, blends nicely. Then, I sponged it in Crumb Cake and put another Label in Crumb Cake (with embossed polka dots and edged with Dazzling Details) under the R initial from the Timeless Type Alphabet. I went old school on the ribbon because I love these colors and couldn't help but put a ton on it.

I hope to inspire my guests to use the challenges we received at Leadership to get creative and have fun.

Next is the invitation for which I used MOJO228 for the sketch.  The tea cup was stamped on the dsp as well and cut out...not sure the leaves are visible in the photograph though.

I worried that it was little silly to waste a card for my invites, so I made the information just slip under the band. My guests can reuse the simple card for a future birthday this way. (The rolled roses are much too thick to mail however.)

I'll have several things ready WAY ahead of time this year due to the hop, and that's a good feeling! Now let's continue to Betty's Kitty Stamp blog where she has Easter all wrapped up (bunnies too!) . Such a pretty cross she made!

Kidoodles, Turtle & Co. Stampin' Up! cards...for Stamp A Stack

This little turtle (Turtle & Co. set) is quick and cute, and I believe it uses a MOJO challenge, but I didn't tag the picture so it is lost to me now. That is my new plan....I'm going to type the origin of a sketch (or card in the event of a CASE) onto the picture itself because I forgot where I found this! Bad me!

Nothing sketch worthy about this Kidoodles card with three image options...Simple and Silly. I just used an embossing folder (Snowburst) on the center two pieces for texture.

Wedding Cake Card for Stamp A Stack

I CASE'd this idea with changes from Lorri Heiling...I do not know if she is the originator of the idea.  I thought it was too gorgeous not to share with my customers, don't you agree?  Thanks for sharing Lorri!

And how fortuitous that Valentine's Day just happened to fall on the day I planned to post this....so Happy Valentine's Day to everyone and especially all the old married folk like me and my husband! :)

Little Princess Royal Standard

When Paula posted this challenge on Stampin' Addicts, I thought it would be perfect for the Little Princess set both because I have plenty of this designer series paper and because I like the royal standard-like dovetail of the bottom of the main image layer.  I love when things just work out!

Stamp A Stack Masculine throw backs

Masculine cards abound in next week's Stamp A Stack!  Oldie but goodies Lovely as a Tree and Loads of Love as well as a card with The Open Seas with your choice for the sentiment of course.

The River Rock, Baja Breeze, Cherry Cobbler and Basic Gray were the color challenge on Stampin' Addicts for the 3rd of February.  You're welcome to participate in any of the challenges on SA!

Sweet Hello Stamp A Stack card

For these two cards, I used the MOJO Monday sketch number 227 and the Sweet Shoppe designer series paper for an unusual and springy color combination. I think the colors and sketch freshen the cupcake and Ice Cream Cone for spring. Bling and Satin Ribbon add a bit of zing.

Twitterpated Vintage

Gail Cobb's Leadership Swap card was a favorite of many of my customers, so they asked to make her card for a class. I decided to offer color options from the Twitterpated designer series paper and use it for this month's Stamp A Stack. Gail's card was Ridinghood Red with a white ribbon, but I think the Ridinghood Red designer series paper piece looks fine with Cherry Cobbler ink and the Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon too.

Pear Pizazz is another choice, and I decided to show sentiment choices too.

Of course everything looks nice in my favorite color, Baja Breeze, and that scrumptious pleated ribbon is gorgeous!  I'm so glad SU! made it available in my favorite color!

Dump Trucks and Excavators

I made these cards to send to the troops for them to send to their little guys back home.  I love the texture that silver cardstock embossed with the square lattice folder gives.

This is the first of upcoming Stamp A Stack (Feb 16th 17th or 18th) cards I'll be posting for the next couple of weeks.

Tea Shoppe Framelits shaped Card

Hi all...I love a shaped card, and I think the new Framelits make a lovely design. I simply used a regular size card base and ran it through the Big Shot. The Framelits will cut through both layers of cardstock at one time, so I just evened up the top uncut fold edge for symmetry and ran it through.  I kept the same amount off the top of the Very Vanilla image layer and ran it through.

The image was created using the marker to stamp technique after the initial inking of the entire teacup in Blushing Bride ink.  I stamped the violet sprigged background on the Wisteria Wonder cardstock with Versamark, and added the Cup of Thanks sentiment on a Blushing Bride Modern Label Punch. The bow was created a little differently.  I folded the bow, and then used sticky strip to wrap around the center and hold the shape.  Adding the adorable Blushing Bride Button and Pearl gives it the extra detail that makes card-making fun!
